How to vote 🗳️

Across the United Kingdom on 8 June 2017, you have the chance to choose who will represent your local area in Parliament. This person will be your Member of Parliament (MP) until the next General Election.

How do you get to choose? By voting.

Voting is really easy to do.

If you've never voted before, this short lesson will show you how simple it is.


Step 1: Register to vote

You can register on the gov.uk website here.

To vote in the General Election on 8 June, you need to register by 11:59pm on 22 May. You don’t need to register again if you’ve already registered.

Step 2: Find out where your polling station is*

All you have to do is put your post-code into wheredoivote.co.uk.

Step 3: Vote

Step into your polling booth and cast your vote!
